Barbie Actor Simu Liu Confesses Love for Diablo 4, Calling It the ‘Perfect Stress-Buster’

When it comes to being a gamer, it does not matter what your age is or how famous you are. A gamer is a gamer. Whether it is The Witcher actor Henry Cavill or basketball superstar Luka Dončić. However, one celebrity made headlines with his love for gaming. This is none other than an actor featuring in one of the most popular movies set to come out in the following week: the Barbie movie.

Barbie and Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu revealed his love for Diablo 4 at Barbie’s movie premiere. In addition to Diablo 4, the actor reported playing Valorant along with his friends.

With Barbie’s premiere, Simu Liu appeared in front of the media. During one of the interviews, the questions moved toward what the actor does for fun. His reply was gaming! What was supposed to be a conversation about the Barbie movie turned into two gamers speaking their hearts out about Diablo 4 and Valorant, both games Simu Liu plays.

After Diablo 4’s release, lots of people hopped into the game. Liu was not far behind, jumping into dungeons, slashing his way through enemies. The actor found the game quite relaxing after a day of shooting, using it to unwind. During the interview, he said, “I’ve been playing some Diablo. You know what I love about Diablo is the perfect game to play at the end of a long day on the set. Just grinding and clicking away.”

Additionally, Liu made appearances alongside prominent streamers Valkyrae and Bella Poarch. The three of them were dubbed ‘the unholy trinity’ by developers of Diablo 4, Blizzard Entertainment.

While it is easy to mistake it as Liu dipping his toes into Diablo 4, his association with the franchise goes much deeper than the latest release. Liu has been a fan of the franchise for a long time, even appearing in the reveal trailer for one of the games. Back in 2021, when Diablo II: Resurrected was announced, the live-action trailer featured Simu Liu. In a short but intense performance, Liu set the stage for Diablo II: Resurectted perfectly.

With the premiere done, Barbie hits the theaters soon. With the massive hype surrounding the movie alongside another fan-favorite, Oppenheimer, predictions show astounding box-office numbers. Alongside Simu Liu, Hollywood stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling will take center stage in the new Barbie movie.
