Baldur’s Gate 3 Devs Reveal How PS5 Features Were Integrated Into the Game for a Phenomenal Experience

But the wait is over, as Larian Studios has recently launched its superb title on Sony’s highly esteemed platform. From September 6, PS5 can delve into the medieval world of Baldur’s Gate 3. The developers of this game have shared some interesting aspects of the game regarding its compatibility with PlayStation 5.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is most enjoyable with keyboard and mouse control options. Although the game from the very beginning has controller support as well, for both PC and PS5, But will the game ever deliver the same experience as the limited buttons on the controller have to deal with the complexities of the game?

For this, the Baldur’s Gate 3 developers have taken the interface, streamlined it, and changed the original UI into radial menus. This radial menu feels more engaging and is easier to work with on a controller. A trigger button on the controller can access the most essential tools of the game, as it brings up the radial menu to open maps, journals, spellbooks, character sheets, combat logs, alchemy, short rests, long rests, and camps.

Not only that, with this, the leveling screen and Illthid Powers skills tree can also be accessed. A slight pull on the trigger will let you peek at the many, whereas a hard press will lock that menu to the screen. For a quick reminder of what just passed, a dialogue history can also be accessed in Baldur’s Gate 3. The right stick will help you fully zoom out the camera to access the tactical view. You can also use the Jump and Examine feature on your controller’s D-pad.

The Dual Sense technology of the PS5 controllers is going to be a game changer for Baldur’s Gate 3. The light bar on the controller will come in handy if you are in a battle between wielders. This bar will show the same color as the damage type or the color of the spell you are casting. Not only that, in a high-pressure situation, its brightness will intensify with situation-optimized haptics. The controller will also light up with matching colors whenever you are paralyzed, bleeding, or charged.
