This year the British Empire witnessed the final glory of Baldur’s Gate III as the title won The Game of the Year award at the Golden Joystick Awards 2023. However, the story doesn’t end here because there are six more titles that this game won at the event. These categories are as follows:

  • Best Visuals
  • Best Storytelling
  • Best Game Community
  • Studio of the Year
  • PC Game of the Year
  • Best Supporting Performer
  • Ultimate Game of The Year

Larian Studios, the developers of Baldur’s Gate III was praised before by the fans. However, they finally received the reward for their hard work with the Studio of the Year title. In fact, Astarion’s voice actor Neal Newbon received the award for Best Supporting Performer. Following the seven awards, Baldur’s Gate III surely made a record that fans were dying to see.

Apart from Baldur’s Gate III, another RPG Final Fantasy XVI received two important awards at this event. This game won the awards for Best Audio and Best Lead Performer. Ben Starr won the Best Lead Performer award for voicing Clive Rosfield. Not only that but Bethesda’s Starfield became the Xbox Game of the Year with Alan Wake 2 winning the Critic’s Choice Awards. In fact, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty won the award for Best Expansion. Isn’t the list already very tempting?

This year Indie Game Sea of Stars also bagged the award of Best Indie Game at the Golden Joysticks Awards 2023. Mortal Kombat 1 also received the Best Multiplayer Game award at the event. Finally, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom became Nintendo Game of the Year with Resident Evil 4 winning for PlayStation Game of the Year.
