Comic Con is the place to be for comic book lovers. This event is a paradise for everything related to comics. Be it tv show panels, meet and greets, major announcements or merchandise, these conventions have it all. And in similar fashion, Mortal Kombat was part of the San-Diego comic con where DLC characters were revealed, including Omni Man, Homelander and Peacemaker. So Mortal Kombat 1 fans were naturally hyped. And fans attending New York Comic Con will be thrilled for the same. While fans wait for the event, Ed Boon has issued an update.

Since its release on September 14, Mortal Kombat 1 has been taking fans by storm with its immersive gameplay. One of the most exciting aspects of this gaming franchise has always been its roster. So, it was obvious that fans were eagerly waiting for some updates regarding the upcoming rosters for the game. However, as New York Comic Con dates get closer, Boon has given fans a bitter pill to swallow.

No Omni-Man: Ed Boon stuns Mortal Kombat 1 fans with shocking news

MK1 Director Ed Boon has recently shared a shocking update on X (formerly Twitter) that will literally shatter the hopes of all the fans. He has stated that there will be no sign of any gameplay trailer for Omni-Man at the upcoming New York Comic Con which will be held from October 12 to 15, 2023.

We have already seen that Mortal Kombat 1 is teaming up with DC to bring some of its iconic characters into the game in the upcoming Kombat Roster Pack. And one of the most popular has to be Omni-Man from the famous animated series ‘Invincible.’

Boon has promised that developers at Netherealm Studios have some mind-boggling content. He stated, “We are only at the beginning of the ride with #MortalKonbat1. We look forward to sharing what’s coming next with a long list of fighters, kameos, and game features.”

Omni-Man will be entering the MK realm as a Kameo fighter. But as of now, there have been no gameplay trailers for Omni-Man revealed by Netherealm Studios. So, fans were really rooting for the New York Comic Con.

Fans are heartbroken

After hoping for so long, and then seeing that hope gets broken, fans were left unhappy. Here’s what they said:

This news clearly saddened another user. This shows how much Omni-Man’s introduction means to the fans.

Meanwhile, another user wants the dlc already. Or at least a peak at what to expect. Especially considering the user has paid extra for the dlc.

MK1 is already going to be a flop, according to this fan.

One user has taken the more optimistic approach, pointing out the fact that Boon didn’t mention Homelander or Peacemaker.

After a superb launch, fans have been waiting for the Kombat Roster Pack DLC to unleash the new additions. But as things stand, MK fans have to wait for a while to see Omni-Man enter the arena.
