Assassin’s Creed series has hit an unexpected roadblock

Netflix is doing pretty well with adaptations of video games. Arcane is pretty successful, and so is Edgerunners. Everyone knows about The Witcher series and Castlevania is doing pretty well too. It did not come as a surprise when Netflix and Ubisoft decided to develop a series based on the Assassin’s Creed series.

Fans were hyped. They had high hopes as the last attempt at making a live-action Assassin’s Creed game did not go so well. So they were hoping on a change of fortunes this time around.

Jeb Stuart, the writer of Die Hard and creator of Vikings Valhalla, entered the project as a showrunner. But recently Stuart informed Collider that he has in fact left the show. But he did not give any reason as to why he decided to leave the show after working on it for this long.

But a very vague explanation was given as he said, “I think it was a little bit of a move of executives from LA to London, and it allowed the London group who, unfortunately, had to inherit my vision of what it was instead of getting to develop their own vision.”

There is no idea about who would be leading the series to completion, but we can only hope that the person does their best to retain the originality of the game.
