Ubisoft says the players will be taken along on a memorable adventure where many surprises await them. Their journey will see them being accompanied by Basim, who was introduced in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Since the developers wanted to revisit the early settings of Assassin’s Creed titles, it was only logical to bring Basim to 9th-century Baghdad. Long-time fans of the series are highly anticipating returning to the glorious days of the game as the stealthy member of The Brotherhood.

Basim will also have access to a wider range of tools and weapons that can be customized and upgraded. However, the sword and dagger will be his most trusted choice of combat tools. Weapons and outfits can be unlocked by completing missions on behalf of the Brotherhood. Once fully upgraded Basim’s tools can also help him implement new gameplay strategies for silent takedowns. In Mirage, players will have to rely more on their combat tools to make sure they can evade a sticky situation.

New progression system

Unlike most other RPGs, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will not be following an XP-based progression system. Instead, a linear progression system will challenge players that will be heavily driven by the storyline. Players can increase their ranks within the Brotherhood by completing missions. This in turn will again be useful for weapon customization and upgrades.

The story will be following Basim’s journey of becoming a master from being an apprentice. The story-driven idea has the community looking forward as nothing similar may not have been experienced in any previous AC titles. With Ubisoft’s track record of making some of the best names in the industry, fans are almost sure that the Mirage will be a unique piece of art.
