Assassin’s Creed Mirage is all set to release in October 2023, and the excitement is palpable. Fans have been curious to learn everything since the revelation of the title. And Ubisoft has revealed much about the gameplay. The game will see Basim in 9th Century Baghdad. The official gameplay reveal shows a setting and gameplay that is reminiscent of the older games, like the Ezio trilogy.

Recently, more information came to light, except this time, someone leaked it. The concept of leaks is certainly not new. Leaked information is sometimes good news, and other times, bad. Either way, Ubisoft won’t be thrilled about leaks. In this case, fans may not be either.

Members of the Ubisoft team confirmed the game will be a nostalgic experience. Those who have played the older games like Assassin’s Creed 1 with Altair, or the Ezio trilogy are bound to remember the good old days. The game is meant to pay homage to the beginning of Assassin’s Creed. Creative director at Ubisoft Bordeaux, Stéphane Boudon stated that Basim’s story takes place 300 years before Altair.

Senior Game designer Marco Maresa confirmed that they have drawn inspiration from the older games, especially the Ezio games. Mirage will bring back some of the classics, like bench assassinations, and killing from the rooftop gardens.

While fans can confirm this through the gameplay reveal, there are features which are relatively new. Basim has an Eagle, Enkidu for a companion, just like players have Ikaros in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Senu in Origins. However, another feature has come to light. And it is bound to polarize the Assassin’s Creed community.

A recent leak has revealed that Mirage will contain micro-transactions. A tweet from user Access The Animus revealed in-game purchases. In-game purchases have always been a polarizing feature. They may be profitable to Ubisoft, but not all fans are okay with paying to access content.

Another user j0nathan, known for revealing Assassin’s Creed information, revealed that Mirage will include micro-transactions. However, the post was removed. Twitter user Assassin’s Creed Central has tried to play down the reveal. But the secret’s out.
