The Game Awards 2022 has finally rested. The treasured names and world premiers became the highlight of the event. But the reigning highlight was the Game of the Year announcement. Since Elden Ring became the honorable receiver of the title, Twitter boss Elon Musk has passed on his congratulations.

Twitter’s torchbearer Elon Musk is known to be a close confidant of Elden Ring. On top of that, while speculating on Game of the Year, he had backed the game to win the title. And it seems the billionaire’s prophecy worked out in the end.

Recently, The Game Awards kicked off the highly awaited annual event at Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles. As hours passed by, the awards kept going to their honorable and deserving roles. And all eyes struck straight when it came to Game of the Year. Josef Fares walked on stage to present the award. Hence, the suspenseful journey of 300+ days ended with Elden Ring winning the Game of the Year award.

Now, this surely became a moment of celebration for Elon Musk, because Elden Ring resides as one of his favorite games. He tweeted, “Congrats on Game of Year!” Also, Elon has so such an interest in the game that he recalled seeing a Bulgarian Fort in the game. Interestingly, this comment from Elon also motivated MIT Research Scientist Lex Fridman to play the game.

To Elon’s tweet, Fridman said, “Now I definitely have to play it. Too many cool people told me that it’s one of the best games ever made.” Thus, this win by Elden Ring would surely be attracting many eyeballs to witness the world encapsulated within the action-adventure game, to be more clear, the Game of the Year 2022.

God of War dominates The Game Awards by receiving abundant awards

While the Elden Ring community celebrates their win, God of War: Ragnarok which was the suspected competitor of Elden Ring, bagged many titles. Kratos’ voice actor Christopher Judge received the Best Performance award from no other than Al Pacino. While he enjoyed the fan moment, the game went ahead to grasp other awards.   • Best Audio Design
  • Best Action/Adventure
  • Innovation in Accessibility
  • Best Score and Music

Hence, one can totally say that the year became a marvelous one for the games. And with the world premiers showcased during the event, 2023 looks nothing less than 2022.
