Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is FromSoftware’s latest game in this popular mecha combat series. The visuals seem to be indicating the fact that maybe FromSoftware has moved on to a more modern engine. It certainly looks very distinguishable from other games they have worked on before.

The trailers reveal very little about it, and to remedy that problem, the producer of this game decided to spill some beans on this game!

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is a third-person mecha combat game by Elden Ring creator FromSoftware. That much every gamer out there is aware of. But what about its story? What are its gameplay mechanics? And how does it carry over from the previous installment in the series? The game’s producer, Yasunori Ogura himself answered all these questions.

While talking to IGN recently regarding this game, the first thing he did was clear the air about it being the sixth installment in the series. He made it clear that it’s a standalone game and does not require players to play any games before this one.

He mentioned that the game had been in development since 2018. Its story takes place on a futuristic planet in the future where interstellar travel has become the norm. It is mostly set on a planet called Rubicon 3, which was destroyed years before the game’s main story. This destruction happened due to a substance called coral. Now, years after the destruction, it is revealed that Coral still exists on Rubicon 3.

This leads a bunch of forces to advance on the planet and get their hands on it. The people who are natives of Rubicon 3 are resisting this, and this has caused a huge war. This is where the player is dropped They would be a “Lone Independent mercenary Surviving Amidst the Dynamic Three-Dimensional Action” in a war-ridden Rubicon 3.

He then talked about the gameplay a bit and mentioned flying precisely through the skies and defeating enemies. He further said that the controls had been improved to make the mech more responsive.

It sure sounds exciting, and the trailer seems to say that it’s as exciting as it looks. August 2023 cannot come any sooner.
