The League of Legends developer, Riot Game’s renowned online FPS game, Valorant has maps that are directly based on real-world cities. This also completes the lore of the game, as according to the story, the game is based on Earth in the near future, in the year 2039. That is why one of the maps of the game named Bind is the in-game futuristic version of Rabat, the capital city of Morocco.

4. Japan’s cat island Tashirojima (Genshin Impact)

Genshin Impact’s Asase Shrine is believed to be based on the real-life cat shrine of Japan on the outskirts of Miyagi prefecture. According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, cats outnumber the human populace in the prefecture by a 3:1 ratio.

Many of the city’s landmarks could be noticed in the game, including the Airport, and Ukrainian Parliament.

In the history of gaming, one of the most iconic and significant moments was the moment Cloud Strife and Aerith Gainsborough met in the Sector 5 slums church. While in the original game, it was very hard to understand the details of the church, thanks to the modern remake, the community was able to figure out that it was actually based on La Chapelle de L’ange au Violon in France.

This lavish map with gold buildings and white pillars is directly inspired by the Paramount Pictures studio in California, USA. Just like the real-life location, the in-game map also offers the players a touch of the lavish world of the American film industry.
