There are a bunch of new PlayStation 5 games lined up for 2023. And fans are understandably very hyped up for most of those games. The most notable of them is Spider-Man 2. But a recent showcase for Sony’s first-party titles ended in disappointment when many anticipated games were missing from it.

Now there’s a rumor going around stating the exact reason for those games not being present during that showcase. It looks like the absence of those games was a strategic play on Sony’s part.

Rumor Says Sony pushed a bunch of completed first-party PlayStation 5 titles for a later launch date!

Sony fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming year. A bunch of games are lined up for launch, even though the platform holder has yet to announce a launch date for most of them. Games like Bloodborne Remaster or a sequel to that Victorian soulsborne marvel. And games like the much-rumored sequel to Ghost of Tsushima.

And let’s not forget that rumored PC port of Ghost of Tsushima that has been coming for a couple of years now. If this recent rumor is to be trusted, then all these titles and much more were to be revealed during the recent PlayStation 5 showcase, but Sony delayed them all internally. The question arises: why would they do that? What reason would Sony have to keep their fanbase wanting more?

Some suggest this has been done to make sure PS5 has a strong second half. PS5, although it is already having a fabulous second half all thanks to Spider-Man 2. The hype around that game is pretty insane; fans are already counting it among this year’s GOTY contenders.

Maybe Sony wants more for their console in the coming months to make sure their fans have much more to choose from when Starfield releases for Xbox and PC. Even Stellar Blade got delayed for the same reason, even though the game looked pretty close to completion in its last gameplay trailer.

Whatever Sony’s reason might be for these delays, here’s hoping these games are coming. Many fans would be very enthusiastic to get their hands on the next-gen version of Bloodborne, after all. Maybe they are planning to show all that during the rumored September showcase?
