After this announcement, everyone’s main focus is on none other than Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, aka Dr Disrespect. This popular personality is known for his hilarious streams of Apex Legends, PUBG, Call of Duty, Fortnite, and many more.
In May, Kick’s Head of Product, Paulie Chianese, disclosed that there are talks going on regarding the contract of Dr Disrespect with their platform. Doc himself was quite interested in joining this new budding streaming platform from Twitch.
However, at that time, the platform expressed hesitation in finalizing the agreement due to his alleged request of $50 million. Paulie stated: “Doc wants $50 million, and he’s not playing around with that number. Hey, listen, I love the Doc; I watched him for years and years. I think he’s one of the more entertaining streamers in the business. But $50 million is $50 million.”

The streamer himself later commented on this situation: “Doc, you going to kick?” You want to get that conversation over with? Yeah, we can get it over with. $50 million.”

Kick has already tapped prominent names in the streaming industry, like Adin Ross, Yousef “Fousey”, Hikaru Nakamura, Amouranth, and many more. But the biggest name has to be former Overwatch Pro and streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel, for a non-exclusive deal worth a staggering $100 million. As things stand, we won’t be surprised if Kick brings Doc into their realm.
