The latest trailer comes after the release of the “Stories from the Outlands – Northstar” video that showed the backstory and journey of the newest Legend, Valkyrie. We learned that Valkyrie is the daughter of the deceased Titanfall 2 antagonist Viper, and the cinematic short confirmed her inclusion into the Apex Games’ roster.
Today’s launch trailer previews Apex’s newest Legend in action. It also confirms the introduction of a long-awaited Arena mode to the Battle Royale game with Season 9.
Apex Legends Legacy launch trailer previews the abilities of new character Valkyrie
The three-minute-long trailer cuts to the chase right from the start, encapsulating some of the best animation work by Respawn. We get to see Valkyrie soaring and maneuvering through the sky using her jetpack. That is before she wipes out the opposition with a cluster of missiles fired from her suit.
The Legacy launch trailer displays some of Valkyrie’s abilities up close. It seems fans can expect her to be a mobile Legend in a similar manner to Pathfinder, Octane, and Horizon. The abilities previewed in the video also seem to fall in line with her previously leaked abilities. Although, an official revelation of Valkyrie’s kit is due from Respawn in the coming days.
All the existing Legends also get their equal share of screen time as we get to see them engage in intense skirmishes. However, the big moment arrives when the trailer cuts to an appearance from Ash, a simulacrum pilot from Titanfall 2.

As the Legacy launch trailer comes to a close, it notifies of an official gameplay reveal for “Arenas” scheduled to take place on April 26. This confirms the arrival of a highly-anticipated new game mode in Apex Legends Season 9, with Respawn teasing players to “go beyond battle royale.”

If that isn’t enough, the developers also made sure to sneak in a brief demonstration of the new weapon in action. Towards the end of the trailer, Valkyrie is seen wielding the Bocek Bow as she shoots an arrow to spoil Fuse’s celebratory moment.
Season 9 is shaping up to be the most promising Apex Legends season yet. The launch trailer for Legacy gives a good indication of why Respawn has dubbed the upcoming chapter so. The studio had promised to integrate Titanfall-related content into Apex, and they are expanding their game beyond the Battle Royale genre with their decision to do so.
