The developers of Apex Legends have long tried to find a way to balance Wraith. However, despite the best efforts, she continued to rule every single season of the game. She flaunted the highest win rate throughout seasons since her kit was just too powerful. Wraith has a tiny hit box because of her small character model, and her tactical ability makes her one of the fastest characters in the game.

This combo proved too lethal for the player base to tackle as she continued to dominate the meta irrespective of nerfs.

Apex Legends has tweaked Wraith further

Respawn Entertainment had introduced a cast point animation to her tactical ability in older updates. The animation mimicked a famous anime character Naruto, and it soon acquired a similar name. However, this change had to be reverted because unintentionally it added to her strength even more.

In the previous update, they changed her running animation to counteract the vital issue that made her even smaller. It looks like those changes were not good enough as Season 8 aims at her hit box.

Wraith now has a slightly larger hitbox than her fellow small legends, but the changes stay true to her model. As you can see in the before and after comparison, we’re adding some width mostly in the torso and leg areas.”

Apex Legends developers have already introduced a valuable perk in low profile that improves the damage she and other smaller characters take. It was a pleasant addition to have, but she continued to see high pick rate and her win percentage was also unmatched. In the patch notes, the developers confessed that they have had problems trying to introduce a meaningful nerf.

We know Wraith will always be a popular pick considering the amount of combat utility in her kit. After many tweaks to her abilities and animations, the fact remains that her win rate continues to be at the very top, as it has since day one. With Season 7 hitbox adjustments to Pathfinder, we were able to control his power without nerfing his kit. We hope to do the same with Wraith.

The developers are not looking to hurt the character and are solely aiming to balance her powers. If these nerf prove too harsh in the near future, the developers could give her some buff. It will all depend on how these changes perform in Season 8, and if her pick rate and win ratio go down, it could soon bear a positive for Wraith mains.
