Apex Legends’ strength has been in its game balance despite housing a massive roster. Frequently, the game has found itself in hot waters with the community when it fell off previously. Regardless, developers usually resolve these issues at the earliest because of the vigilant community that always stays on their toes.

Often, new content and changes to game can produce unintended yet game breaking results. It seems like the community has found themselves in a precarious situation regarding the new golden magazine attachment with Season 8.

Gold Magazine could hurt Apex Legends weapon balance

In the older patches, players showcased a similar fear for red evo armor, as it seemed too powerful on paper. They were not entirely wrong about that, as many players still regard it to be overly strong as compared to weapons. Now with Season 8 of Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment is looking to introduce a counter measure for evo armor with the new gold magazine.

It offers a massive boost to firepower, and it can also automatically reload the weapon when holstered. The magazine is exactly like its other gold attachment peers, and it does not improve the ammo capacity. However, the passive skill could become a nightmare if it is paired with the right weapon.

An LMG like Spitfire that already contains a high ammo capacity and enjoys a long burst of fire could become game breaking with gold magazine. It will enable you to reload the beast passively while you duck and dive your way around enemies. Players usually holster heavy weapons like Spitfire while moving around, and this is where the passive ability could add to its power.

Rampart pairs up well with this attachment

Another probable combo for the weapons will be with Rampart with her tactical shield. This shield amps up your damage output while blocking the incoming shots, and together with the golden magazine, Spitfire can produce game breaking results. Although it is being reported that the weapon could take more than 5 seconds to reload, the passive ability counteracts the elongated reload.

In a competitive environment, gold tier loot plays a pivotal role in deciding the winner. This equipment tier contains powerful abilities like self revive, shield regeneration and so on. In this regard, the community’s trepidations are very valid, as high tier loot can change the tide of a combat. Not only will a game breaking ability affect the competitive integrity, it can also hurt the gaming experience.
