Ring Fury Escalation Takeover introduces Heat Sheilds and the Survival Slot to the Apex Legends arena
The Ring Fury playlist takeover will make some interesting changes to the regular Apex Legends gameplay. In each round of this new mode, one or more Ring Flares appear on the map within the current ring. These Ring Flares expand slowly and players who get caught within one will take damage equal to the current ring’s damage.
A short warning will pop up on the map and minimap before the Ring Flares open up, and the Legends will also call out the ones occurring nearby. While steering clear is the safest way to deal with these flares, players can also utilize a new item known as Heat Sheilds.

Heat Sheilds
All players will spawn with a Heat Sheild in their inventory during the Ring Fury Escalation Takeover. Throwing down a Heat Sheild sets up a protective dome that prevents ring damage. In addition, using healing items consumes 50% less time inside these domes, and revive speed is 25% quicker. However, this bonus is only granted by the Heat Sheilds activated within a Ring Flare or the ring, and not by the ones activated in the safe zone.
Heat Sheilds will make for some innovative playstyles by enabling players to loot and heal outside the ring. At the same time, these items will gradually degrade in power over time as they take ring damage. Therefore, they won’t be durable enough to last too long in the final rounds. Respawn has tuned the loot pool for the playlist takeover to spread Heat Sheilds around the map so players might find more than one.
Survival Slot
The Heat Sheilds won’t take up any of the normal inventory space. The new Survival Slot aims to provide smoother inventory management by letting players carry situational utilities like Mobile Respawn Banners and Heat Sheilds separately from normal loot.
With proper team coordination, this additional inventory slot will help players test their survivability tactics. Also, the Heat Sheilds and the Survival Slot will remain available in the game even after the Ring Fury Escalation Takeover concludes.

Caustic gets his Town Takeover in Apex’s Chaos Theory Collection Event
Caustic is in the spotlight for this event with a new Town Takeover location on the Kings Canyon map. The newly constructed Caustic Treatment has replaced Water Treatment to prevent the Crash Site fuel spill from reaching the ocean.
In the event’s blog, Respawn describes the location as a “new dominant mousetrap with lots of high quality loot that beckons all Legends who seek the glorious cheese.”

Being the scientist he is, Caustic has arranged for an experiment that requires players to drain toxic fluid from the center of the facility. Doing this will give them temporary access to four gold items locked in cages. However, they must act quickly or risk facing the deadly Nox gas. The polluted fumes from Caustic Treatment have also caused Mirage’s party ship to set sail elsewhere. As a result, the Mirage Voyage has gone missing from Kings Canyon.
