Buildings and villagers have always played an important part in Animal Crossing games. The latest title, New Horizons, followed the same trend with its adorable anthropomorphic characters and variety of buildings.
In addition, Nintendo has deployed periodic updates, introducing the player base to newer characters and features. While this has allured many new users to the Animal Crossing series, some fan-favorite characters and features are yet to grace the New Horizons islands.
For instance, most in the community would agree that the Roost, a famous cafe run by the pigeon character Brewster, are among the most longed-for features to return. Having appeared in the previous titles, fans have speculated on their potential comeback in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

A potential location for the Roost and how it could look in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The Animal Crossing content creator feels it would be safe to expect the Roost’s design to appear much identical to the version in New Leaf. Resembling a modern cafe, the building would have a cozy seating area for players to enjoy the coffee served by Brewster.
In the older games like City Folk and Wild World, the cafe had a classic design and an area for K.K. Slider to play his guitar on Saturdays. This performance area isn’t a part of the cafe anymore. However, should the Roost return, there is also a good reason for it to appear more like in the older titles than in New Leaf.
This is because of the cafe’s potential location in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Dataminers have uncovered mentions of a cafe section within the Museum in the game’s code. This serves as evidence that the Roost will probably be located somewhere in the Museum, similar to City Folk and Wild World.
The coding also alluded that the cafe would incorporate gyroids in some form. Obviously, the Nintendo devs have confirmed nothing yet, but the datamined intel has been pretty accurate regarding several other features. Overall, there is a good possibility of the Roost appearing more like in the older titles while having a design closer to its version in New Leaf.

How the Roost could function in New Horizons
A cool feature of the Roost was that players could work part-time as a barista for Brewster after they had talked to him enough. It functioned as a fun mini-game within the game itself. Players could take the orders of different villagers and special characters, who would visit the cafe and liked their coffee a certain way.
Crossing Channel feels this feature should return in New Horizons, as it could be a fun way for players to meet the special characters excluded from the game. Characters like Harriet, Nat, and Joan don’t have a purpose anymore and have either been replaced by new features or villagers.

Therefore, it would be nice to see some special villagers come down to the Roost, have a seat, and let players cater to their orders. The YouTuber also highlights some in-game dialogue referencing the Roost and Brewster. Clay, the lazy hamster, is seen speaking of his conversation with Brewster regarding coffee.
