Spooky season will soon dawn on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As with other updates, the Halloween event will bring new villagers to your island and give you a chance to earn tons of themed items and outfits. Here is what you can expect from New Horizons’ Halloween event for 2021.
Players can expect to see the update by the end of September as the event runs through the entire month of October. Pumpkins are a widely used Halloween decorative item in households as well as in New Horizons. During the Halloween event, pumpkins are an essential part of many DIY recipes. You can either purchase them in anticipation of the event from the villager Lief or from Nooks Cranny during the month of October.

What does Animal Crossing: New Horizons Halloween Event Entail?
Besides decorating your island with spooky pumpkins, Halloween is the perfect time to dawn an eerie outfit. Some of the outfits available in last year’s collection include a mage’s dress, animal costumes and a Jack-o’-lantern head. In addition to this, you can wear body paint and colored lenses to enhance your outfit.
The most exciting part of this event occurs on October 31, the day of Halloween. Jack, the Halloween Czar, will arrive on your island to kick off the celebrations. Residents on your island will gather at the Plaza adorned in Halloween decorations. New Horizons keeps the tradition of trick or treating alive with this event.
At the Plaza, you can give Jack candy in exchange for themed in-game recipes and items such as a replica of Jack’s costume, a Spooky Wand, and a Spooky Carriage. Furthermore, you should also give some candy to the residents gathered at the Plaza to avoid getting pranked by them.
You can acquire candy from Nooks Cranny for the price of 120 bells. However, you will be limited to purchasing only one candy per day.
