Of course, the day in question is none other than GroundHog, which means a brand new seasonal item can be purchased from the Nook shopping app. However, make sure that you get your hands on the model before the event ends on February 2nd. It is one of the many events players witness in the month of February in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Basically. GroundHog is celebrated in America, where different people gather together to predict winter’s duration. The same takes place in Animal Crossing, particularly in New Horizons. just like a proper holiday, all the villagers gather together to see if the local mole will predict the winter duration and finally welcome the long-awaited spring. Interestingly, players can also have a chat with other villagers until Mr. Resetti makes his ultimate appearance.

Resetti makes his appearance just like the traditional mole. Exactly at 8:00 AM, Mr. Resetti pops up out of the ground like a groundhog would and announces that spring is coming. It’s a quite unique event on its own. This event mainly takes place between January 25 to February 2.

Evolution of GroundHog in Animal Crossing franchise

Like most of the other events in the Animal Crossing universe, GroundHog also comes with its own limited-time seasonal offerings. Ever wondered where this event first started and how it is being celebrated in other Animal Crossing titles? Well, here’s everything you need to know about it.

Groundhog event was first appeared in the original Animal Crossing game and is a bit more of an event than we typically see in the newer version of the franchise. All in all, the efforts put into these mini-events in GroundHog with the dialogue alone are pretty impressive, to be honest. Later on, the widely popular trend of receiving a Resetti model was introduced in the game.

Moving on to Animal Crossing: New Leaf GroundHog event. The event saw a slightly more interactive and fun GroundHog day event. However, this time it’s Isabelle instead of the tour timer and also stops by the plaza to host the event. Interestingly, Isabelle will also talk a bit about the GroundHog day before awarding the players with the Resetti model.

All in all, the event acts as a nice little reminder that Spring is nearly here and that means new weather phenomena and more events are on their way.
