Hinamatsuri day has finally arrived on Animal Crossing New Horizons, and it is your last chance to pick up some special items. This Japanese festival is centered around girls, as families come together not only to celebrate but to hope for their continued good health. Every household will bring out elaborate dolls and pull them together in a wedding setup.

Gamers can pick up hina dolls, blossom lanterns, and other items from Nook’s Cranny under the seasonal goods tab. If by any chance you missed the entire event, then just take a step back and time travel to a date between Feb 25 & March 3rd to experience the event.

History of Girls’ Day in Animal Crossing New Horizons

The event was not always available for the western audience to dive into every single year. The older titles had several events region-locked, which barred any outsider from celebrating it. This also blocked the gamers from picking up special good items, which were originally offered only to the Japanese region.

This caused major issues for western fans, as many events would go overlooked and the studio would, later on, compensate the playerbase by distributing the items to the next major international event.

Girls’ Day also brought out an amazing phone item, which not only served as a lucky item but also offered psychic service. This was your one-stop shop to alter your luck without ever needing to go all the way to visit Katarina. This event stayed roughly out of the wild world, and it was only brought back with City Folks, aka Let’s Go To The City. Ever since, New Horizons has retained it, and it has returned once again.

Lastly, Isabelle would offer you special rice balls during the event’s duration, but it was also region locked and impossible to pick up. International players would have to use time travel to the event’s date and visit Japanese towns to experience the festivities in Animal Crossing.
