Since releasing in March last year, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has received periodic updates that add fresh content to the game. The much-anticipated January update has been scheduled to launch this week, on January 28. Nintendo has dropped a new trailer, revealing the events and features coming to the game with the update.
This free update will bring the carnival spirit to the New Horizons islands, alongside some seasonal additions, new reactions, and purchasable items. However, the primary attraction will be the Festivale event, marking the return of the peacock character Pavé.

Pavé brings the festivities of Festivale to Animal Crossing: New Horizons this February
The trailer from Nintendo details what players can expect to see in the game following the new update’s launch. Dancer Pavé will arrive at the island’s plaza on February 15 to kick-start the Festivale event filled with confetti, dancing, and flying feathers.
On the day of the event, players can collect colorful feathers floating around on their island and bring them to Pavé to witness his passionate dances. Players might want to ensure that they catch some rare rainbow feathers and trade them with the cheerful peacock.
To help players express their excitement for the event, Nintendo will include the Viva Festival Reaction Set. Purchasable from Nook’s Cranny for a limited time, this set features a range of new reactions, including Feelin’ It, Let’s Go, Viva, and Confetti. Limited-time Festivale clothing will also become available at the Able Sisters shop beginning February 1.
