Unlock cooking in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The Cooking mechanics is a brand new feature added with the 2.0 update. Furthermore, it’s very complicated to unlock if you have just started your New Horizons journey. First, make sure to update the game to the latest version that is 2.0.4. After that, visit your Resident Services, and go to the Nook Stop kiosk to select Redeem Nook Miles.

Interestingly, some players cannot purchase the Be a Chef! DIY Recipes + item from Nook Stop. This is only because they haven’t met the in-game criteria to unlock the feature. Players must have at least a 3-star island rating, upgrade their Resident Services tent to a building, and complete their DIY customization workshop with Tom Nook.
