Nintendo released New Horizons in 2020 for their hybrid Switch consoles. The game allows players to explore a virtual world and redesign a deserted island to their liking. There are a lot of features to try but Update 1.3 introduced new features in the game.
One of those new features was swimming and diving. These new features opened a new world to the players. They now had access to more new sea creatures and items. Pearl was one of those new items, but it’s an extremely rare item to find.
How to farm Pearl in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Pearl is a rare crafting material in the game. Even if players don’t want to use them to craft something, they are still rare items to collect and can be used to decorate the island. But how to farm these Pearls in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? For now, there are only two methods of farming this rare item.

Before we talk about the methods, the most important thing is the players need to get wet suits. An ACNH player can buy a Horizontal-Striped wet suit for 3000 Bells. Also, they can get the Leaf-print one from Nooks Shopping App for 3000 Bells too. The third option to get a wet suit in-game is to redeem 800 Nook Miles for Nook Inc wet suit at Nook Stop.
Now, the players have to put on the wet suit and follow the only two methods to farm Pearls.
1. The first method is to dive into the sea and look for pearls. When players swim in the sea, they will see bubbles floating upwards, indicating there is a sea creature. Then the player needs to swim near it and dive to see a black shadow-like structure. Then players have to get on top of that back shadow and the in-game character will pick up automatically. Players won’t get Pearl on the first dive, but they will find one eventually after several dives.
2. While diving, players will not always find Pearl. But they can discover Scallop, which players can trade with Pascal to get Pearl. Pascal will appear behind the player as soon as they get a Scallop. But trading with Pascal is limited to once per day. So if players reject Pascal once, they have to wait for the other day. Further, players can use the time travel feature to make multiple deals.
What to do with the Pearl?
Pearl is a crafting material used to craft the DIY Mermaid set. To make all the items available on this set, players would need to get at least 21 Pearls. Animal Crossing players can usually get the recipes for the Mermaid items from Pascal. The red otter doesn’t always offer Pearls in exchange for a Scallop, as he can also offer a recipe for an item from the DIY Mermaid set.

If the players have completed the DIY Mermaid set or don’t need it at all, then what is the purpose of Pearl? This rare item is still useful even when not used as a crafting item, as players can still sell these rare in-game items to Timmy and Tommy for 10,000 Berries. If you also don’t want to sell them, then players can always use them to decorate the island.
