Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fan Tragically Misses Out on an Extremely Rare Form of Fish

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has created an enormous impact in the community since its release. Owing to its enormous popularity, it is arguably the most famous title in the Animal Crossing franchise. In addition to that, Nintendo was able to draw a lot of players’ attention to New Horizons with the 2.0 update.

With the release of the 2.0 update, developers introduced a bunch of new features such as cooking, the Roost, and characters. Not to mention, Nintendo even revealed that ACNH is the second-highest selling title for the Switch. The major reason behind New Horizons’ enormous popularity is that users can relate it to their regular life.

Interestingly, one Reddit user recently shared a tragic experience even after successfully catching one of the rarest fish in ACNH.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan faces unimaginable tragedy while fishing

Recently, a Reddit user, luminouswolfie, shared their tragic experience of missing out on the third rarest fish of the game. In the clip, we can notice that the user successfully caught Arapaima; however, what happens later is rather unfortunate. The Arapaima is a river fish that appears in late summer.

You can only find Arapaima between 4 PM and 9 AM. Thus, early morning or late afternoon and evening are the best times to look for Arapaima. Not to mention, it is a very rare fish and is the third most expensive river fish (10,000 Bells). Indeed, the user was thrilled after successfully catching arapaima and was ready to add them to their collection.

However, they soon realize that they don’t have enough storage in their inventory. Although they could swap any item from their inventory for Arapaima, they were standing on a bridge. Since there was no room for them to place their items on the ground, they couldn’t swap Arapaima and missed their chance to have it in their collection.

Indeed, several fans shared their similar experience and tried to console the user in the comments. One user said, “The first pause after it said there was no room.” Whereas, another player shared a similar experience with the user. Their comment read, ” Ouch, yeah i caught my first tarantula when I was in the plaza, full pockets and all.” 

Last but not the least, one fan also pointed out two lessons for every New Horizons player. They said, ” Two lessons to learn from this. Don’t go fishing on bridges. Don’t go fishing with full pockets.”
