Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the most popular titles in the entire Animal Crossing franchise. Furthermore, Nintendo was able to gain immense popularity after ACNH’s release. Not to mention, developers introduced brand new features with the 2.0 update.

Out of all the 2.0 features and items, most users were thrilled for the return of The Roost and Brewster. After the launch of The Roost, users are spending more time in the museum. Brewster is one of the most iconic characters in the series and several veterans came back to the game to experience his cafe in ACNH.

Interestingly, Nintendo introduced another new feature in The Roost. Now, you can invite characters to join you at The Roost by using amiibo or amiibo cards. Recently, one Reddit user invited Tom Nook to join them at the cafe and what happened later might shock you.

Tom Nook’s surprise in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Several players are enjoying the experience of sharing a cup of coffee with NPCs at The Roost in New Horizons. In case you don’t know how to invite NPCs at The Roost, first head over to the yellow phone (amiibo phone) on the left-hand side of the cafe and use it. Later, you will get an option to scan and invite your favorite character.

To scan, you can use cards, amiibo, NFC apps, and even commercial solutions like the Power Tag. Surprisingly, depending on which character you invite, they might also bring some company with them. Recently, a Reddit user discovered if you invite Tom Nook to The Roost, he will also bring his kids along, Timmy and Tommy.

Indeed, the community was quite shocked when they found out about this detail. One comment said, “That is heartwarming. Those kids are gonna be bouncing off the walls all day and night with that coffee, though.” While another user shared a similar experience, “I invited Sabel today for the first time. I was squeeing over that, while explaining to my husband who all of them are. Lol. Poor Sabel looks so tired!”
