Animal Crossing New Horizons has once again proven that it holds its place among the best games in the world with its latest feat. Nintendo’s prized possession won over the gaming community, and now it has gained recognition at BAFTA Awards. They nominated the title in several categories against the top-rated releases of 2020.
The title has now secured two crucial awards for being a ‘Best Multiplayer Game’ and ‘Best Game Beyond Entertainment’. This feat alone has turned it into one of the more prominent games that came out of 2020.

Sony won in several categories at the BAFTA awards 2021
Animal Crossing has proven its mettle by going toe-to-toe with tough competition. However, it was not the only game that secured major wins. There were some major names that won awards in several important categories.
Hades came out as the biggest winner in this year’s BAFTA awards ceremony. It managed to win the prestigious award for being the ‘Best Game of 2020’, The title also won awards for ‘Best Artistic Achievement’, ‘Game Design’ and ‘Best Narrative’.
Meanwhile, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s catalog of exclusives showed up in a big way in the ceremony. Its exclusive titles Spiderman: Miles Morales, Last of us Part 2, and Ghost of Tsushima all won major awards. ‘The Last of Us Part 2’ became ‘Game of the Year’ for 2020, which was a people’s choice award. Meanwhile, Ghost of Tsushima won for ‘Best Audio Achievement’. and Miles Morales won for ‘Best Music’.

Nintendo celebrates Animal Crossing New Horizon’s first anniversary
This fact alone makes Animal Crossing’s win even more impressive, as the title solely provides a fun multiplayer experience without making use of flashy combat or action. The title even became one of the highest-selling titles in the UK.
Thus far, the game has massively amped Nintendo’s profit ever since the entry of the latest title in New Horizons. It has now sold a whopping 31 million copies world over. Recently the title completed its first anniversary, as the studio rolled out an elaborate patch to celebrate the occasions.

Players got to witness a massive Super Mario event and items inside the game. The developers even added special anniversary items that can only be picked up from this even, Players even got a free anniversary cake item in the game to celebrate the occasion.
