Moreover, with the Starfield release being just around the corner, there’s an obvious limelight on the Microsoft giant. The console fans have been speculating a lot of upcoming possibilities for the company for the next half of 2023. Amidst all the hot speculations, a podcast interview might have revealed a major tease for the future of Xbox hardware.

Shpeshal Nick is probably the most reliable source of insights from the Microsoft gaming console. In the latest podcast of XboxEra, the latter revealed some intriguing information on Xbox Series X. “There are a lot of rumors floating around hardware, like the PS5 Pro. I actually heard from a couple of sources surprisingly. What I have heard is Microsoft is currently looking into a digital-only Series X. I think it’s something a lot of people have wanted for a while”, he quoted during the panel discussion.

According to the statements made by the host, Microsoft is set to lose the disc for the fan-favorite Xbox series X.. But this is not the only massive update we have from the source. “Another part of the rumor which I can’t go into detail frustratingly, there are also plans for other hardware in 2025″, the host further added. Yes! the fans can expect another Xbox hardware in just about a year and a half. Both the rumors, when linked together, make sense as Microsoft would be planning to shift their hardware focus on the next project.

Xbox is currently dominating the console rivalry with a classic margin. Now, with the rumors of upcoming hardware, the other console brands might not be pleased at all. Nintendo being in talks for its upcoming Switch 2 would be scanning the rumor the most. It will be interesting to see how the console rivalry moves forward post the rumor.
