Recently a Reddit user, by the name of ‘seymourbuttz214’, made a really impressive post on the PlayStation subreddit where they showed off their PS5. However, they revealed it in a stunning manner, giving it a PS2-themed overhaul. It had a black cover and the old PS logo. The similarity was such that one of the commenters even wrote that they initially “thought it was a ps2 for a sec”.
To which, seymourbuttz214 replied with a hilarious comment by saying, “Dave Chapelle Voice “Gotcha B*tch!” Haha but that’s what I was going for”. Another fan however said: “Might be my favourite look. That or the retro ps1 plates”. Another thing to note is that the font the fan used to write ‘PS5’ was similar to that of PS2, thus giving it a hypnotic vibe at a single glance.
Another fan shared their work as well
However, it was later found that another Reddit user, by the name of SCPH-1000, also made a similar attempt. Interestingly, they were also successful in making their PS5 look a lot like PS2. Looking at their work, someone asked, “Where did you find these PS1 accessories? Looks awesome”.

Replying to the question, they wrote that the the “Controller was a new hope gray shell from Amazon, colored ps logo was FlamingToast, colored buttons and DPAD I took from a broken DualShock 4. For the console got some gray shell from Mercari, the Sony logo on that case was a replacement one meant for Sony TVs you can find online.”
