After being benched by G2 in March 2021, kennyS faced a period of 18 months where he couldn’t compete due to burnout. Mental health concerns had been a longstanding issue for the French AWPer, and disappointing tournament results with a decline in his gaming prowess resulted in this decision.
This retirement marks the end of kennyS’ six-year tenure with G2, which began in February 2017 as part of the renowned “French superteam” alongside shox, apEX, and NBK-. Schrub played a significant role in G2’s victories at ESL Pro League Season 5, DreamHack Masters Malmo, DreamHack Open Tours 2017, and many more.
Following his departure from G2 Esports, kennyS joined Falcons, teaming up with NBK-, misutaaa, hAdji, and Python. In 2018, Falcons, alongside HEET, emerged as one of the most impressive all-French CS:GO rosters. However, their journey resulted in disappointment as they failed to qualify for the last major with Blast.tv, marking kennyS’s final competitive ride end abruptly.
