An entry in the German government’s project subsidy database has revealed intriguing details about Daedalic’s upcoming Lord of the Rings game. The game will take a unique approach by telling the story from the perspective of a unique character, offering players the opportunity to influence the events of a new region in their own choices.
Described as a story-driven, 3D-action-adventure game, this project has secured funding totaling a little over two Million Euros. This revelation has sparked both anticipation and skepticism among fans. There are concerns regarding the studio’s ability to deliver a high-quality game that does justice to the vast and influential literary universe of Lord of the Rings.

According to the project list, the untitled Lord of the Rings game is set for release in the second half of the coming year. Currently, it is named, “It’s Magic”. Daedalic faces the task of rebuilding trust and delivering a captivating and well-crafted game that can live up to the immense expectations set by the beloved universe.
On the other hand, Daedalic’s recent Lord of the Rings game, Gollum, received negative reviews, plagued by issues such as subpar writing, lackluster gameplay, and a variety of technical problems. It performed so poorly that it is unlikely to attract players unless it is heavily discounted.
