Twitch streamers have suffered for years as they fell prey to the unlawful guidelines. The platform barely thought about its creators and solely focused on business and growth. This led them to have rigorous guidelines along with a biased TOS. For instance, Twitch streamers only took 50% home, with the remaining amount going straight into the platform’s pocket. Moreover, they could only stream limited content, with permabans without actual reasoning.

So, creators were fed up and demanded a reconstruction of the guidelines. And well, Twitch listened to them, only until they released the guidelines, pushing multiple creators to call quits. This became the golden opportunity for Kick to step in and make a bold promise for the remaining ones.

With Kick offering to pay the Twitch platform fee, will creators make the massive shift?

While Twitch’s fresh documents caused chaos on the internet, one bit of it stunned them all. Apparently, the platform claimed to charge a $25 fee for the termination of the contract. Here’s what they said in the document. In point 6.4, the statement read“If you terminate this agreement, a maintenance fee will be deducted from your remaining balance. The maintenance fee will be lesser of the accrued program fees for your Twitch channel or $25.”

Looking at this, its arch-rival, Kick had to step in and seize the day. So, they put out a worldwide claim to take care of the fee for all content creators that would sign a contract with Kick. This just shows how much the upcoming streaming platform wants to host creators rather than just running a business. This sure looks like a marketing gimmick, but their promises are real.

To shed light on them, Kick has a ‘free-bird’ revenue split policy, running 95-5%. Moreover, it has fewer banned themes compared to Twitch. And for the icing on the cake, big names like Corinna Kopf, Adin Ross, BruceDropEmOff, and more have joined Kick.

Recently, MrBeast also joked about hosting a stream on the green platform just to protest against Twitch. So, that just shows how much content creators are fed up with the Amazon-owned platform. Last but not least, Twitch uploaded multiple posts, promising to review their guidelines, but it looks like it’s too late.
