Starfield might be one of the most anticipated games of this generation. Fans everywhere could not wait for this game; Bethesda had been working on it for years. Going by what they showed during their recent showcase, they actually succeeded in creating something special.

This vast sci-fi open-world RPG sure looks like something out of this world. And it’s not as if Bethesda is keeping anything under wraps at all. After that very long showcase, they have been talking about it for a while, revealing many new things about it. But this latest thing is not something that sits well with everyone.

AMD being the technology partner for Starfield is not getting the reception Bethesda was looking for!

It’s nothing new for a developer to partner with a technology provider to support their game. This is most of the time just a thing for marketing, every trailer comes with “Plays best on AMD or Nvidia” written at the end of it.

Sometimes, this also means those games would be better optimized for that hardware. Sometimes games would run better on AMD GPUs, while other times Nvidia would score a win. This does not mean the hardware from other manufacturers would not perform well enough, though. It just means that if this game supports AMD’s technologies, then fans will see FSR and Ray tracing that are more optimized for AMD GPUs.

This does not necessarily mean that Nvidia GPUs would not be able to run this game with Ray tracing on and such. It just means this game would be missing features like DLSS.

But many fans do not seem to care about the real thing; that is just playing the game. Most fans care what company’s name shows up when they boot up the game. This is the console war equivalent of PC gaming. Fans seem to overlook the fact that eventually, every game will add the features of both chipsets, no matter which company their developer partners with.

There’s a high chance this upcoming game will indeed feature DLSS, if not at launch.

Fans cannot seem to contain their disappointment

Fans awaiting the launch of Starfield have made their disappointment known. They have shown their disappointment through words. Some are saying this game would run poorly on Nvidia hardware, while others are simply talking about the features this game would be missing at launch.

All in all, fans waiting the launch of this game are not happy with Bethesda’s decision to include AMD as a partner for this game.

It appears for now this game would be launching with a bunch of AMD-friendly features. And not even AMD GPU owners are happy about it. It remains to be seen how this plays out post-launch though.
