Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will soon make its way with the Campaign Early Access release. Just ahead of the single-player mode’s debut, the makers have now shared another massive update for fans. The newest intel relates to the existing installment Modern Warfare II and its map packs. Seems like the cosmetics, Operators, and weapons are not the only items carrying forward to the next game!
For the uninitiated, Modern Warfare 3 will Carry Forward a lot of stuff from MWII. Players can continue to use their purchased items like weapon blueprints and exclusive Operator bundles. Now, the makers have revealed that many popular maps from the current game will also make their way to the upcoming title.

Last year, Infinity Ward had introduced many areas for players to enjoy in Multiplayer. To name a few, they got to witness maps like Mercado Las Almas, Farm 18, Taraq, and Embassy. In its seasonal updates, Modern Warfare II kept on receiving more new maps as well. Plus, it also got revamped versions of iconic locations like Shipment and Shoothouse.
Now, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to carry forward most of the Modern Warfare II maps post release. While sharing crucial launch details for this year’s FPS premium, the devs revealed a blog that unveiled a substantial amount of intel regarding Multiplayer maps.

There’s a specific section on how Modern Warfare II maps will be available in MW3. A number of maps from MWII will come to the next COD installment with the help of live seasons. Initially, players will see four core 6v6 maps including areas like Mercado and Shoothouse. A dedicated playlist after MW3’s debut will reveal them instantly.
What’s interesting to note is that MWII maps in Modern Warfare 3 will play a little differently. It’s because “due to the innovations to movement and general gameplay mechanics present in MWIII, you may find that they play in an altogether different manner,” reads the official blog.
What to expect from Modern Warfare 3 after launch?
Speaking of the content of the next game, fans are in for a treat. To begin with, there is the element of nostalgia with 16 remastered maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. To name a few, there will be areas like Rust, Highrise, Derail, Afghan, Karachi, and Quarry, among others.

Modern Warfare 3 will also introduce a refreshed Multiplayer experience. Compared to its predecessor, online matches will feel more fluid and smooth thanks to the return of classic movement mechanics. Features such as Slide Cancelling and Reload Cancelling will be back this time. And that’s not all.
There will be the Aftermarket Parts as well. Using them, players will be able to transform a given weapon into a different class of weapon altogether. Just imagine converting a pistol into a full-fledged SMG. It will be something unique for the users.
