Alan Wake awed fans and players with its intense plot line. The journey of writer Alan Wake in a surrealistic dream-like sequence made the game immersive and had plenty to offer. Recently, one of the devs disclosed how the game’s opening lines were a gift from Stephen King, the undisputed king of horror flicks. The revelation made fans fall in love with the game all over again. Now, Remedy Entertainment is looking to hype fans some more and the Alan Wake 2 release is just around the corner.
I’ll also say that somehow we are getting this game done with about 130 people on average for about 4 years of dev time (dev time is a very elastic term tho) for the quality level we got, is incredible. We are very, very far from 1st parties or other big studios resources.

Alan Wake was released way back in 2010. While Alan Wake 2 has been in the works for about four years now, fans have wanted the game for more than a decade. Remedy’s Thomas Puha, the Communications Director, shed more light on the game’s development process recently on X. In his remarks, we can properly fathom how small the team is that made Alan Wake 2.
The game was first slated to release in mid-October. But since bigger titles like Spider-Man 2 were also announced to drop during the same time, Remedy decided to push back Alan Wake 2’s release to September. And now we understand why it was the more logical choice by the devs.

Remedy Director acknowledges the team behind Alan Wake 2
In his post on X, Puha claimed that the end result for Alan Wake 2 is nothing short of “incredible“. Especially, given the relatively small size of the dev team, the accomplishment seems all the more mesmerizing.
Puha also said that Remedy is far from availing resources like the bigger dev studios, but that only highlights the team’s dedication to working on games. Puha has also revealed that an average team of only 130 people was involved in the making of Alan Wake 2. The team took four years to finish the game and now fans await its official launch.
