Alan Wake 2 is almost here to take over your dreams (or nightmares?). The highly anticipated survival horror has been the talk of the town for a long time and fans of the genre believe it will be an experience to behold. Devs Remedy Entertainment recently assured console users that the game will play without hiccups on their devices. With such claims, naturally, fans look forward to the game with heightened expectations.
Alan Wake 2 launches across the globe on 27 October. However, for those who want to get on the game the moment it unlocks, the preload option might be the way to go. While the long-awaited follow-up to the smash-hit 2010 Alan Wake releases on both consoles and PCs, console users might have some boasting rights over their peers.
Preload timings and required storage space

Alan Wake 2’s preloading on consoles will begin 48 hours before its public global launch. Users who will play the game on either PlayStation or Xbox devices will be able to get their hands on the game a little earlier than others. While the devs haven’t confirmed such early-access options for PC users, console players can start to witness the horror from 24 October at 9 PM Pacific Time (or 25 October Easter European Summer Time).

At launch, PC players can purchase Alan Wake 2 on the Epic Games Store. With Epic being one of the funding entities for the development of the game, this should not come as a surprise. Along with the preload times for consoles, Remedy Entertainment has also revealed the preload file sizes for the game.

Alan Wake 2 will require PS5 users to have at least 85 GB of free space in order to play it. On the other hand, Alan Wake 2 on the Xbox consoles will require 82 GB. However, from the information available so far, the PC version of the game will be the largest in size at 86 GB. So make sure that you’ve got the space if you don’t want to wait too long to know what new adventures await the life of fiction writer Alan Wake.
Alan Wake 2 comes with big promises
Alan Wake 2 devs previously revealed that a team of 130 people have worked on the game for 4 years. While the game has been in the talks for over a decade, it was only in 2020 that Remedy Entertainment confirmed the game. The communications Director at Remedy also highlighted that the game will come with DualSense support, making the immersion factor of Alan Wake 2 something never experienced before.

Along with reprising the journey of Alan Wake, the new title will also bring back The Old Gods of Asgard, a fictitious rock band from the 70s and 80s that made its debut in the original Alan Wake title in 2010. With over a decade in between the two titles in the series, the community has high hopes for what Alan Wake 2 will have to offer.
