Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space both took over the community with blazing guns. These two classic names in the horror genre received much-awaited remakes and brought the horror to life like never before. While these big-budget games were justifiably highly anticipated, Alan Wake 2 remains the star of the season. Sam Lake, Alan Wake 2’s Creative Director, has high hopes for the game and believes it will take the fans by surprise.
Remedy’s Alan Wake 2 has been in the making for a long time. Its 2010 predecessor is considered a classic by horror fans and set new benchmarks for the industry. Remedy Entertainment and Sam Lake are also responsible for another classic franchise: Max Payne. Ahead of its release, Remedy Entertainment confirmed that Alan Wake 2 will be a treat with its DualSense support. The devs also confirmed that the horror title will offer a great experience to console users. Naturally, the hype was intense and Lake believes, Alan Wake 2 is perfectly capable of holding its ground against the likes of Resident Evil 4 Remake and Dead Space.
Both of the titles are big-budget games and were incredibly well-received at launch. Now, they look to make a triumphant return using technological advancements and upgraded features. But Lake assures, “They’re going to be like, ‘What the fuck is going on?’” In a recent interview, Lake talked about how cinematics play a large role in Alan Wake 2 and its progress.
During the interview, Lake mentioned that Max Payne was the original point that made Remedy discuss the possibilities of a survival horror series and Alan Wake 2 looks to carry forward the franchise’s legacy further.

Alan Wake 2: A new narrative style
Alan Wake 2 will follow two different stories at the same time. One will see an FBI detective investigating a series of mysterious murders in the Pacific Northwest, while another will tell the story of Alan Wake’s haunting visions of a morbid New York City. Lake mentions Alan Wake 2 will be about “who we believe we are and who we discover we are.”
The contrasting worlds of imagination and reality will converge as the story progresses and players will be faced with a wild journey into the realm of The Dark Place.
