After much drama around the Nintendo Direct, the Japanese giants finally hosted the much-awaited showcase event. It was only a 40-minute-long event. So, Nintendo didn’t showcase a lot for their every game announcement at the event. Although some fans enjoyed the event, some didn’t feel the same.

Fans went crazy for Direct at Nintendo New York

Nintendo hosted the showcase event on September 13 at 7 AM Pacific Time. The 40-minute-long event was live-streamed on YouTube and their official site. However, the audience in the United Kingdom couldn’t witness the event live as the Japanese giants wanted to show their respect for the sorrowful period of national mourning.

Moreover, some Nintendo stores, like the one in New York, invited fans to watch the event live there. The New York division recently shared a video where the fans seemed thrilled about the Direct. In the video, fans shouted at the announcement of N64 classics like Pokemon Tournament and the recreated Goldeneye 007, which would be playable on Switch soon.

Fans also reacted excitingly to the announcement of new games like Pikmin 4. However, the room was full of cheers, loud clapping, and shouting when Nintendo unveiled big names like Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe and The Legends of Zelda Tears of Kingdom Hearts.

The fans enjoyed watching the Direct at the only store in America. After all, they got the opportunity to gather together to watch a Nintendo Direct together after two years. There were restrictions for the last two years because of the global pandemic.

What do Twitter fans have to say about the reactions of New York fans?

While fans enjoyed the Direct at the Nintendo New York store, most fans were upset about the showcase event. Many even claimed it to be the worst Direct they had witnessed. So, seeing the New York fans enjoying it was a shock for many.
