The Twitch vs. Kick live streaming war has reached a new turning point. While earlier Twitch had sheer dominance in the streaming world, Kick has emerged as a worthy challenger for it, as it has successfully signed a deal with Amouranth and xQc further helping their cause.

On the other hand, Twitch has been receiving criticism for its policies from its streamers. Amidst growing unrest for their policies, Twitch has added fuel to the fire by banning Counter-Strike: Global Offensive skin gambling sponsorships on its platform. This move has further turned the tides in Kick’s favor. And xQc is one of the first to be vocal about it.

Twitch places a ban on CS: GO skins gambling sponsorships

Recently on stream, xQc came across the news of Twitch banning CS:GO skins gambling sites to sponsor streamers. After going through all the details of the ban the streamer found it “interesting”. While he was still viewing the content, a statement he gave earlier on Kick vs Twitch started to gain traction among the fans.

Twitch has explicitly mentioned in its community guidelines that “No, promotion or sponsorship of skins gambling is prohibited under our policy.” This ban from their end will affect a lot of streamers as CS: GO skin gambling has become a popular thing due to the upcoming arrival of CS2.

Furthermore, CS: GO skin gambling has emerged as a business in itself. Professional team G2 has CSGORoll as one of its sponsors, a popular skin gambling site. With Twitch coming in and placing a ban on this type of emerging business, many streamers are bound to shift towards Kick. And xQc’s supportive views of Kick might be the catalyst that drives them.

xQc picks Kick over Twitch, clarifies his reasons

While streaming on August 1, xQc came forward with some supporting views for Kick. He said, “Kick is just better. I enjoy just chilling with [my] chat and doing this s**t.” He further added, “At the end of the day when it comes down to actual freedom, this is much better. That’s just the way it is.”

With the prominent streamer speaking in support of the new platform, coupled with the strict policies Twitch has been implementing, it will surely start a tug-of-war between the two platforms for poaching streamers.
