The Witcher series is arguably one of the best action RPG games in the world. The series has enjoyed phenomenal financial success, with near-perfect scores from the critics as well. But when the third title of the series wrapped up the story of the trilogy, fans were left wanting more.

To ease the fans’ longing, CD Projekt RED announced Projects Polaris and Sirius in March 2022. However, since then, there has been a radio silence from the studio. Without any official news, there were some rumors about layoffs and changes in the project for a brief moment. But, now, CDPR has finally revealed the statistics on the upcoming games.

The CD Projekt group Q1 2023 Earnings report demonstrates statistics about the development teams engaged in their ongoing projects, with stats revealing the studio is focusing on the development of the next Witcher game. Though there is good news, fans will still have to wait a bit before its release as the game is still placed in the second seat compared to the Phantom Liberty expansion of Cyberpunk 2077.

Judging from the data, there had been a constant increase in the development teams working on the Witcher projects, Sirius and Polaris. It can be inferred from this increase that CDPR is pushing the game to be released before 2025.

The third installment of the series crosses a personal checkpoint

Till the release of the new games, fans can enjoy playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This third installment is said to be the best action RPG game to ever exist, proved by its the outstanding sales figures since its release in 2015.

In the Q1 2023 Earnings Reports, CDPR also reported The Witcher 3 crossed 50 million units in sales, earning it a spot alongside some of the highest-selling games of all time. All the Witcher titles combined have also sold over 75 million units to date.
