The internet is going crazy as Tesla CEO Elon Musk finally took over Twitter for a handsome sum of $44 billion. The business magnate has already started taking some significant steps in his new organization, and one of them is firing top executives working there.

Elon Musk needs no introduction, as he’s among the world’s most popular and influential people. This businessman owns big brands like Tesla and Space X. However, the video game enthusiast has had his eyes on the social media platform Twitter for a long time. After a series of back and forth, Musk has finally become the owner of Twitter.

Elon Musk fires the Twitter CEO

The Tesla CEO announced his Twitter takeover by uploading a video of him entering Twitter headquarters with a sink in hand. Moreover, the caption read, Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!Undoubtedly, that was an excellent way to announce this huge move. But as soon as he entered, the man had already started working.

His initial work at Twitter was to get rid of the old foundation to place a new one. The new Twitter founder has already fired some prominent executives of the company. One of the first people to lose their job was Twitter CEO, Parag Agarwal. The Indian-American software engineer took over the seat of CEO in 2017 after the co-founder Jack Dorsey left it vacant.

Further, the relationship between Musk and Agarwal was not a positive one note even before Musk’s takeover. These two have also clashed in a battle of tweets in the past. The situation between the two got even worse during this $44 billion deal.

But what acted as oil in the fire during this process was Parag, going on a vacation to Hawaii during this period. Musk even questioned his action, “Does doing occasional zoom calls while drinking fruity cocktails at the Four Seasons count?”

The new Twitter owner has started the revamp

Firing Parag Agarwal was just the start of this Elon Musk’s reign as the new Twitter owner. There are reports about Musk trying to cut more than 5,000 jobs, roughly around 75 percent of the organization. Moreover, Musk has also fired CFO Ned Segal, who has been working for Twitter since 2017.
