Elon Musk approached the former head of YouTube with a job offer on Twitter

Elon musk had proposed a new venture to his co-workers at Twitter HQ. He said, “My kids were basically educated by Reddit & YouTube; Let’s just get a bunch of content creators that we think are cool on YouTube & say, “Hey, would you consider putting your content on Twitter, & we’ll pay you 10% more than YouTube & see how it goes?” Let’s do that.

Elon musk even expressed his optimism about this idea on Twitter by saying, “Something tells me this would work.” To which the former head of YouTube gaming Ryan Wyatt aka Fwiz replied, giving some hand first-hand data, “Ran Gaming at YT for almost 8 years. YT’s monetization is pretty damn good and it would be considerable MG’s to ensure this bump, but definitely would draw more eyeballs to the platform. Gaming alone had ~350M logged in daily users at YT when I was there.”

Ryan’s knowledge and experience impressed Elon. A little too impressed honestly as he all of a sudden proposed a job offer to Ryan, as he replied, “Join Twitter!”

How did fans react to the tweet?

This sudden proposal surprised not only the fans but also online journalists.
