We might see more systems on Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Passes soon! According to Nintendo, Switch Online subscribers keep growing in numbers. The service is gaining users with every few new systems sold. This is not surprising, given that Nintendo has been steadily working to make its service a better deal for its adopters.

This growth is also a result of multiplayer games like Splatoon 3 and new expansions for Mario Kart 8 launching recently. Users are required to have Switch Online subscription to be able to play multiplayer games on their consoles.

Along with the ability to play online, subscribers also get cloud storage for their saved games and access to NES Online and SNES Online. These offer players a selection of games from NES and SNES to play on their Switch. When users suggested that these were not enough to justify the $19.99 price tag, Nintendo decided to top it up with limited offerings such as Tetris 99 and Super Mario Bros. 35.

Nintendo has a lot in store for its loyal users

But Tetris 99 was not everyone’s cup of tea and Super Mario Bros. 35 ended up being discontinued after a few months of its launch. It’s not as if Super Mario bros. 35 was a bad game, it’s just that Nintendo only released it for a limited time, to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

So, they finally revealed an expansion pass for Switch online. The Expansion Pass offered players access to a Nintendo 64 Online. It gave players access to a bunch of N64 Games, and to this day, they keep on adding new titles to it.

Nintendo recently announced a Switch Online version of Goldeneye 007, the fan-favorite N64 game, with an online feature. The game would only be available to Switch Online users when it launches. Adding an online feature to Goldeneye 007 is just the thing Nintendo had to do to elevate the hype.

Additionally, Nintendo is now planning to reveal additional features to incentivize users to keep using Switch’s online service at no additional cost. With Switch at 114 Million units sold worldwide and 36 Million online users, and a new Zelda game on the way, Nintendo is in an excellent position right now.
