After Ellie From the Last of Us, Another Video Game Heroine Gears Up for a Live-Action Debut!

The Last of Us is earning new fans through its HBO series by the day. The series is so well made that people are saying it has finally broken the curse of bad video game adaptations.

Now this series had been in development for a very long time. Ever since the first game changed everything with its portrayal of human relations in a broken world, people have wanted to see this series in a live-action avatar.

And now it appears that the success of The Last of Us has encouraged Amazon to start working on a live-action series based on a video game too!

After HBO’s The Last of Us, Amazon is all set to bring Tomb Raider to life through a live-action series!

Amazon is already in the process of working on a series based on Sony’s blockbuster God of War. And now The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of Fleabag, is currently in process of writing a show based on the Tomb Raider series.

Unlike The Last of Us, Tomb Raider has inspired at least 3 live-action movies. Two of them starred Angelina Jolie, while the third and most recent one starred Alicia Vikander as the celebrated “Tomb Raider”.

The movies did good business but were never considered faithful enough to their source material. But this time fans seem hopeful enough. All thanks to the brilliance Waller-Bridge has shown in Fleabag.

For those unaware, Fleabag is one of Amazon’s most celebrated series. So, it only makes sense to give the command of this brand-new action-oriented vehicle to one of their most brilliant writers.

Chances are that fans might even see Waller-Bridge herself portraying the titular role, given her prowess at writing that she has already showcased in her previous project. Everyone hopes to see this series soon enough. Although fans might have to wait long, it appears with this kind of talent involved, the wait would be totally worth it!

Amazon is doing a lot more!

Aside from working on a live-action series based on God for War and Tomb Raider, Amazon is also involved as a publisher with Crystal Dynamics. It was announced a while ago that the developer has partnered with Amazon game studios for their next Tomb Raider title.
