Imane Anys, better known as Pokimane to billions, is a renowned streamer. The streamer has been an avid contributor to the community. From content videos to cheerful streams, the star has won the hearts of many people. However, she recently talked of coming across a scam. Moreover, she gives an account of it with the intention of spreading awareness with fellow streamers and influencers.
Pokimane explains the scam she faced to aware fellow streamers and influencers
Recently, Pokimane tweeted, “i was recently almost blackmailed & wanted to share what happened to me as a precautionary tale.. i uploaded the storytime on my tiktok, highly recommend especially for smaller creators. Be careful what you share online!” Furthermore, in her TikTok, she explained the scam that she faced.

In the video, she shared the fact that she was contacted by Neiwai (a fake user under an original name). Neiwai is a lingerie and loungewear brand. Notably, Pokimane told that she had mentioned them in one of her videos. Under this light, the scammer mailed her for giving them a shoutout and put forward an idea for their new launch.
Following this, they mentioned that they needed her measurements and address so that they could send her three custom bras. Due to her being in New York at the time, she asked if she could send it after she returned to Los Angeles, which was acknowledged by the scammers.

However, after noticing absurd details in the email, she got to know about the scam. She said, “I realized that they weren’t showing me how to take my measurements. They were asking me to put a tape measure around me and send me a photo of my bare chest.”
Furthermore, she showed the fake emails, and the fake multi-page PowerPoint, and voiced that they did forward emails from their fake boss. Fortunately, Pokimane got to realize the scam just in time. However, she did explain the consequences, like blackmailing, and had things gone haywire. Luckily, the situation was averted before any mishappening occurred. Above all, she recommended that influencers, especially creators in the early stages, be aware of such scams.

Sometimes if you're not sure if the email is legit, you can also check to see if they're spoofing the email address it's coming from.
If you use gmail, click "show original". Under it should show all the meta data where you can see the return path, the sender ip, etc. pic.twitter.com/Gk39TU7GXa

Be careful in general what you share. Hackers and scammers like to take advantage of the most vulnerable and will use and abuse them to get whatever they want. Workin in IT has really opened my eyes to how adamant hackers and scammers can be

Just watched, one lesson here is to always check the email address and pay careful attention to the domain. Almost every company uses the domain of their website so seeing an email addressed from a company end in something like hotmail or gmail should immediately raise suspicion.
