The fact that Sega’s last console, Dreamcast, was discontinued 21 years ago, but still the company continued to thrive in the industry says a lot about the arcade genius. But now with a special project, it seems that Sega might be returning in 2026 with something “Super”.

Sega finally returning with its full potential

The Sonic Team developed the upcoming Sonic Frontiers that Sega is planning to release on all the main gaming platforms. But the issue still remains: Why isn’t the console genius releasing any more big games?

But with recent updates, it seems that they are not wasting their opportunity but instead are working on something “Super”. We’re currently developing such a game, targeting release by the fiscal year ending March 2026. The ultimate goal in the ‘Super Game’ strategy is to create a game so revolutionary that it attracts far more active users than any of the Group’s games to date.”

Although, it can also mean that they might be planning on doing something totally different and pulling off a game that has never been played before.

Will they be able to pull it off?

If the recent years of gaming are analyzed, it seems that Sega has been able to make some rather great games over the past few years. Although inactive in the console business, Sega has not let down its hands on making games.
