As the first few hours of gameplay surface online, fans have been waiting eagerly for the official reviews of the game. But what to do until then? So here are a few things that might interest you in knowing the game better.
Xbox and PC-released Scorn is a different kind of body horror
Is it a demon? Is it an alien? Or is it something else? The answer to what kind of a horror game Scorn actually is, we have to look at the dictionary meaning of what the name means. According to the Oxford Languages, the definition of Scorn is “a feeling and expression of contempt or disdain for someone or something.”
This means the player, who is a creature from another universe, has to pave paths and go through a hellish journey of finding its purpose. This was best described by popular gamer theRadBrad, who said, “I really like how the game doesn’t tell you anything. You’re just thrown in.”

According to its Steam description, however, “Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry.” This means the more you play, the more you will find out about the lore of the game. The body horror game has been developed by a Serbian indie studio Ebb Software, which first announced the game back in 2014.
Where to play and what are the requirements?
Scorn is released for both Xbox Series X|S and PC. Although, developers Ebb Software might not be planning on releasing the game on PlayStation any time soon. Notably, the game needs some hefty specs to play on the PC. The minimum requirements for the game are:
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: QuadCore AMD Ryzen 3 3300X / Intel Core i5-8400
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3 GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 50 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD (Solid State Drive)
