Fans have high hopes for this title after the failure of the last game, Call of Duty: Vanguard. Infinity Ward developed this CoD game under the banners of Activision. Further, the developers revealed the trailer and gameplay in June. The gameplay revealed this game might offer an elite single-player FPS experience.
Further, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will also offer a multiplayer mode like the past CoD games. One of the main aspects of multiplayer is the map. And reports suggest that Infinity Ward has paid a lot of attention to the maps for multiplayer.
What’s new about the maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II?
Infinity Ward has divided players into categories like Rushers, Sentinels and Stalkers. So, the developers created the maps and modes based on the playing style. The upcoming game would feature two primary map categories, Battle Maps and Core Maps.
The Battle Maps target players who like the large-scale combat in Warzone. There are speculations that the Ground Wars and the upcoming Warzone 2 will use these Battle Maps. Moreover, two Battle Maps were revealed, an intense urban map, Sa’id, and a tourist fishing village map, Sarrif Bay.

Meanwhile, the Core Map will target players who prefer the traditional 6v6 combat. Further, these Core Maps would be tighter and smaller, with less verticality for a greater experience. Three core maps were also revealed: a Spanish Museum, an Asian Grand Prix race track, and an undisclosed training facility, Farm 18.
New game mechanics in Modern Warfare 2
Not just maps, but the developers also worked on the game mechanics to offer an excellent gameplay experience. As we saw, this game will feature missions near water, even the multiplayer battle map Sarrif Bay will feature a lot of water bodies. So, the developers paid attention to swimming details.
