Ricochet will release alongside the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard and will also come into effect into Warzone later this year with the Pacific Update. That is not all. Also coming to Call of Duty is a new PC kernel-level driver. This is developed internally for the franchise. This will assist in identifying cheaters. Maintaining the integrity and strengthening the security of the games’ servers. This kernel update will also make an appearance in Warzone with the Pacific Update.
It is important to note that this kernel update is exclusive only for PC. However, it is not to say that console players don’t stand to benefit from this update. Console players playing alongside PC players can reap the benefits of this update.

The inclusion of kernel-level drivers has been a topic of discussion amongst the community. Developers are not usually allowed access to the kernel of an operating system, ergo this update is a big deal since an error in the code from the developer’s side could even brick a PC.
