It has been seven years since  Epic Games released their multiplayer battle royale game Fortnite. Despite the age, what keeps this game fresh among the fans are the new features that the American video game developers introduce. They once again gave a new life to this game by releasing Fortnite Creative 2.0.

The new Creative Mode allows players to create their own maps using Unreal Engine 5.1, which means they can utilize the most up-to-date game design tool to create high-quality custom maps. Fans created many intriguing maps, but a few of them piqued the interest of Call of Duty creators Activision.

No more Call of Duty maps from Fortnite Creative 2.0

Fortnite Creative 2.0 let fans explore their creativity to come up with exciting-looking maps. Some of the most intriguing maps were based on the famous FPS game series Call of Duty. even the famous streamer CourageJD shared playing on a Call of Duty-themed map in Fortnite Creative 2.0.

However, Fortnite fans could enjoy those Call of Duty maps till now, as they caught the attention of Activision. The renowned eSports journalist Jake Lucky shared on his Twitter that the Call of Duty creators are taking down maps based on their games for copyright infringement.

It would undoubtedly be a great disappointment for many Fortnite fans who had been enjoying playing maps based on FPS, Rust, and Zombies from the Call of Duty franchise. Lucky went on to say that it was unavoidable. But he hoped those maps that drew inspiration from other games rather than simply copying them should be allowed.

But even if Activision takes down these Call of Duty-themed maps, they would still have exciting maps to enjoy. Fans can also try the MMORPG and horror-themed maps in Fortnite 2.0.

How did fans react to these actions by Activision?

Fans weren’t much surprised about these consequences with the Call of Duty maps. However, some fans claimed the reason Activision taking these steps is due to Fortnite 2.0 maps being better than their original ones. Meanwhile, some fans suggested that Creative 2.0 creators can introduce some changes to avoid copyright infringement.
