Kenta Usui and Yoshiaki Koizumi directed this game under the guidance of Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario. Similar to Super Mario 64, this game offered crazy adventurous gameplay tactics with some new features. During a vacation on Delfino island, Mario and his friends encounter the villain Shadow Mario.

This villain, Shadow Mario, looked similar to Mario and tried to convict the latter for all of his wrongful conduct on the island. Players had to defeat Shadow Mario and make sure that the island was safe from any further problems. Players begin their gameplay from the hub world of Delfino Plaza and try to prove their innocence.

Later the entire comment thread was spotted with people expressing their love for this title. 

Some people also have spoken about how Super Mario 64 which is the predecessor of Super Mario Sunshine, was their all-time favorite. The majority of the people agree to the fact that Super Mario Sunshine was a brilliant production by Nintendo. One Mario fan was spotted calling it- “A true gem!”
